From Gaza to Haifa and Vice Versa

Popular confrontations with the occupation have brought things back to normal. And the demonstrations in Haifa, condemning the Israeli massacres in Gaza, are a clear echo for what is happening in Gaza Strip, after the Netanyahu government has found itself in a battle that has united its Palestinian fronts in the field of confrontation.

If the reality of dispersion has imposed itself on the Palestinian people and if its burdens have been increased, the Nakba and its entitlements was is and still the umbilical cord that brings the Palestinians together and unites their efforts on the way to embody the right of return to their homes and property.

As was the case in the "October ignition" in the 1948 territories in 2000, the "chorus" of the Zionist statements again have threatened the Palestinians and their deputies in the Knesset and incited on their targeting, as stated by the extremist Lieberman.

The rapid shift towards the right-wing extremism in Israel has over time formed a fertile political climate that has enabled the most extremist parties in Zionism to turn their racist discourse into bills in the Knesset, which in turn has devoted its parliamentary function to the legalization of this discourse. The attack on the Palestinians in the territories of the 48 and their parties has been a familiar behavior in the Zionist political scene, on the background of declaring their belonging to their Palestinian people and emphasizing the unity of objectives and their integration in the Palestinian national project as the most prominent factors to achieve it. So, the Zionist parties have considered this belonging as an enmity to the Hebrew state and called them as the "fifth column".

This relates basically to the Palestinian Nakba, which the occupation state denies its existence. Therefore, it considers that the 1948 Palestinians' commitment, to the true narrative of what happened in 1948, as a "betrayal of the state to which they should owe allegiance". This is primarily one of the motives behind proposing the bills of "loyalty" and "Nakba" in the Knesset years ago. This has brought to the test the claim of the Hebrew state that it is "a state for all its citizens", with the exposure of the racism of this state in an unprecedented manner, especially after proposing the "law of nationalism" in the Knesset and approving it by the first reading.

The state of Israel has bet on the possibility of containing the Palestinian presence after the signing of the Oslo Accords, and many writings have come to predict that the Palestinians of the 48 are heading towards the "Israelization". The owners of this conclusion saw that the end of the conflict east of the "Green Line" will be reflected on the aspirations of the Palestinians of the 48 and their objectives, in the sense of their exclusive attention to solve their daily problems with the Israeli authorities. This means the disengagement of the organic and programmatic integration between the entire components of the Palestinian people, which has always worried the founders of the Zionist project.

It has become clear that this expectation supporters haven't correctly read the nature of the conflict, and that its essence is the land and this is not only related to the Palestinian territories occupied by the aggression of 1967, but it exists in the territories of 1948 with the continuous efforts of the occupying state to renew their Nakba in Negev, Nablus, Jenin, Galilee and other Palestinian gathering in the other cities. Israel has contributed to the establishment of the scenario of "Israelization" outside the circulation with its escalation of settlements and Judaization and its refusal to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The political and popular realization of the futility of the Oslo Accords and their dangers to the national rights , led to the outbreak of the "Independence Intifada" in late September 2000, also its brutal suppression by the occupation led to the outbreak of rage in the 1948 territories through the "October ignition" after three days of the outbreak of the Intifada, and thus the bets on domesticating the Palestinians of 48 territories failed, and the unity of the Palestinian people and the integration of its national rights were seen clearly. This was met with violent reactions by the Israeli security establishment, which dealt with the protests by shooting directly at the participants, which resulted in 13 martyrs. Moreover, the Zionist voices, calling for the expulsion of Palestinians from their country and deporting them to the West Bank escalated. Lieberman was as usual at the forefront of those who claim to it.

With each aggression on the Gaza Strip or the West Bank, the 48 Palestinians were at the forefront of condemnation of these attacks. The 70th anniversary of the Nakba this year has marked a qualitative leap in the events that took place in the territories of the 48 and with the Israeli army committing massacres in Gaza the 48 Palestinians declared a general strike, along with mass demonstrations started in a garden and moved to the many cities.

It is worth mentioning that the unity of blood and national destiny declared by the general Palestinian people in all areas of its existence has placed the occupying state again in a difficult corner in the face of international condemnation of its massacres against the Palestinians in Gaza under advanced international resolutions in favor of Palestinian people.

This assumes: To follow up on the cases brought against the occupation before the International Criminal Court and not to be subjected to any pressure aimed at withdrawing and retracting them. In order not that this move to be suspended in the legal aspect it is necessary for the Palestinian official leadership to exit from the Oslo maze and its security, political and economic constraints, in accordance with the decisions of the National Council and the Central Council in its two last sessions.

From this perspective, the task of supporting the popular resistance rises against the occupation and settlement in the framework of a new political strategy based on the Intifada and resistance to the occupation, away from betting on a settlement that does not comply with the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.

It is important to note that the correction of the official Palestinian policy and its commitment to the decisions of the national consensus will have a positive impact on the situation of the Palestinians of 1948.

The battle against occupation, settlement, racism and apartheid policies is one battle, on multiple fronts.
