Why Gaza is Wanted First?

Trump's administration has decided to ignore the Palestinian negotiator, who has been "brought up" in accordance with a system of promises and brilliant slogans that the former US administrations had been keen to offer as a motive that enabled it to continue for a quarter of a century in the negotiating arena.

During that period, it was convinced that it was an effective partner in determining the political solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, and that is no solution is effective without its consent.

So, if there are many reasons that have led the owners of the “deal of century” and who works on the implementation of it to try to pass its Palestinian chapter from the gate of the Gaza Strip, the quitting of that stage was one of these reasons.

Therefore, the current US administration intervenes on the settlement line in a non-negotiable agreed deal (with its supporters), and all what just available in front of the targeted, is to involve in implementation.

Both the Trump administration and the Netanyahu government consider the Gaza Strip as source of complex problems, which their perpetuating and exacerbating leads to multi directional developments. Therefore, they are trying to create a “safe path” that directs these developments towards ends that do not clash with the interests of both partners. Since the return marches have constituted one of the “bad” scenarios for the explosion of the situation in the Gaza Strip, the focus will be on “correcting” it by inculcating the Palestinian suffering in general and Gaza among it, in the context of humanitarian issues. This is the common ground from which the American-Israeli understanding of the Palestinian issue stems, away from its national liberation content. In the context of the consolidation of this understanding, the two partners are freed from the entitlements of the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy.

The partners see that the partial discussion in the Palestinian situation starting with “Gaza first” limits it in specific files, which facilitates to get the consent of poles of the international community towards them, as their framework doesn't contain issues that formed an international and regional serious dispute with the two partners such as Jerusalem and settlement and others. The primary title remains the preliminary “alleviation” in putting the Strip through two complementary paths.

One of the tracks increases the service projects and talks extensively about plans to solve many of the problems suffered by the people of the Strip such as water scarcity and pollution, power outages and the failure of the crossings movement. The sources of the two partners talk about mobilizing a regional and international support for this trend, and the availability of readiness for funding from Gulf parties, as well as an Egyptian logistical support and administrative facilities in supporting this process.

The partners consider the punitive measures, approved by the Palestinian Authority towards the Gaza Strip as a heavy material to bid on the Palestinian situation in general and Gaza in particular, especially as the Trump administration is a major factor in the aggravation of the UNRWA crisis and the serious threat to the services provided to the Palestinian refugees, including the refugees in the Strip.

The complementary course focuses on “stopping the declaration of war against Israel”, which, for Tel Aviv, is represented by the return marches and what accompanying them of firing the burning kite planes. The Netanyahu government's leaders intend to exaggerate the damage caused by these planes, so that the warnings of them have exceeded the usual level of Israeli claim about the resistance's rockets and tunnels. The reason for this exaggeration is to portray the occupation army and its security institutions in a situation that will not be prolonged, this means appealing for new regional offers of pressure on the political and popular situation in Gaza in order to stop these marches.

All this is reacting in the context of the multi-party talk about the possibility of reaching a cease-fire that would pave the way for a truce. The American and Israeli partners stress the need to provide the "appropriate" political and security environment for the implementation of the "humanitarian" promises to the Strip. This is the main issue for the two partners, who are waiting for any interactive indicators from within the Strip, specifically Hamas.

It is clear that the "humanitarian" offers to the Gaza Strip are not open, and the Netanyahu government wanted to remind Hamas of this by restricting the movement of crossings, limiting the movement of goods recently and other measures. In other words, there is an equation that the American and Israeli partners are trying to devote toward the political situation in the Gaza Strip, based on passing a security and political deal that will be the primary key to the passage of the whole "century deal", to include the Palestinian situation in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

The real basis for Washington and Tel Aviv to push for Gaza first is the deepening of the division and the arrival of its two parties into a situation of total disintegration. If this situation persists, they will find time to produce additional means to pressure on the Strip and its people. Therefore, it is needless to say, that any initiative by Fatah or «Hamas» to get out of this situation and begin the removal of the barriers between the two ditches of the division, that will turn the tables in the face of attempts to perpetuate the American-Israeli equations on the whole Palestinian situation.

What is important in any initiative to revive the efforts to end the division, is that it must be based on a political will, that is built on the conviction that the way to confront the American plan begins with ending the division, in accordance with the decisions of the national institutions and the comprehensive dialogues and under the banner of the national liberation program, as experience in this regard, has proven, many times, that any initiative that is not based on the above, will be a failed maneuver and it will not help to relieve the pressure on some, will not draw attention and return attention to others, and will not succeed in soliciting offers better than its predecessors.

It can be said that the deal of century has produced before its legalization many decisions and actions that have touched the essence of Palestinian rights and this is true. It is also true that all American decisions regarding Palestine have violated these rights since the emergence of the Palestinian cause and even before that. Despite this, the Palestinian people has continued its path towards the restoration and realization of its rights, and has achieved much in this way, due to its unity under the banner of the national program.

It can also be said, that although Palestinian rights are at the forefront of the US-Israeli deal's targets, other parties in the region are concerned about their interests as a result of this deal, besides these, there are many regional and international countries and conglomerates that are being harmed by the brutal politics of the Trump administration.
