Abu Zarifa: We must not intercalate the resistance in internal strife and Gaza is not a field for political experimentation
August 12, 2017

Talal Abu Zarifa, a member of Political Bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, stressed on not intercalating the Palestinian resistance forces in the internal Palestinian quarrels, pointing out that this deviates its gun from targeting and resisting the Israeli occupation.

Abu Zarifa, through an exclusive statement, said: "We call for executing of what has been nationally agreed upon among the Palestinian factions, and we do not need any new proposals to confront the situation in Gaza Strip", stressing on the need of not going back and repeating the experience of division in 2007.

Abu Zarifa added: "Addressing the Palestinian situation is represented by Palestinian reconciliation and ending the division, so we are calling for not turning Gaza Strip into a field of political experimentation, especially in light of the situation of Palestinian cause and the state of regional, Arab and international preoccupation with issues that are away from the essence of Palestinian cause".

He pointed out that, the call for a political and security vacuum in Gaza Strip has implications in all aspects of living conditions of Palestinian people. He said: "I can not imagine that anyone can think about it, including Hamas, because it has bad effects on internal Palestinian situation".

Abu Zarifa also added: "We must respond to the voice of Palestinian mind, that demands the necessity of national unity, putting mechanisms to dissolute the administrative committee, stopping the measures of Palestinian Authority's President, Mahmoud Abbas, and the return of government to address all issues and holding a meeting for the Preparatory Committee of Palestinian National Council to end the division, in addition to make presidential elections and a national council with full proportional representation at home and diaspora".

Abu Zarifa concluded: "The experience of Al-Aqsa Mosque is an example of Palestinian unity, and the calls for security and political vacuum, will lead to internal fragmentation, besides that, the political conflicts will lead to the disruption of Palestinian national situation", stressing that the shortest way to national unity is to implement what has been previously agreed upon.
