Hawatmeh during his meeting with Moroccan leader Mohammed Bensaid: The project of Israeli right wing and extreme right wing which are headed by Netanyahu, are aiming to loot the Palestinian lands
August 25, 2017

Nayef Hawatmeh, Secretary-General of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, discussed with the Moroccan leader, Mohammed Bensaid, head of the United Socialist Party, the Palestinian situation and the situation in the Arab countries.

Hawatmeh confirmed that the Israeli settling colonization expansion, is threatening Jerusalem and the Palestinian Bank, by Judaization and Israelization, and the West Bank by settlement, which has increased eight times since Oslo Accords (1993), it is also threatening the Islamic and Christian sanctuaries, as well as the temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque. The settlement is expanding towards executing the ''Greater Israel'' project on all of occupied Palestine and cutting the way before achieving the national rights of our people in self-determination, establishing the State of Palestine on borders before June 4th, 1967, with Jerusalem as its capital, and the right of refugees to return to their homes according to international legitimacy resolutions.

Hawatmeh added that Trump's administration is completely biased to the project of right and extreme right wing, which are headed by the Netanyahu government, and after 20 meetings with the Palestinian Authority's delegation, the US administration is silent on the expansion of settlements in Jerusalem, Palestinian Bank, Jordan Valley and southern Hebron, and ignores any position to discontinue settlements and the national rights of Palestinian people. It also underestimates the Arab positions toward solving the Palestinian and Arab-Israeli conflict with the reference of international resolutions and sponsorship.

He also added that the Trump administration is putting "9 pre-conditions" on the Palestinian Authority before the resumption of negotiations, within a framework of a regional conference between Israel, Palestinian Authority and a number of Arab capitals, and it rejecting to hold an international peace conference with the reference of United Nations resolutions and the sponsorship of UN Security Council's five permanent members.

Hawatmeh stressed that Trump's administration has exerted pressure on the Palestinian side «to not return to United Nations» through a new draft resolution to vote on the full active membership of Palestine in the United Nations, or to call for an international conference for peace, or to seek the protection of land and people of Palestine from the occupation and colonization of settlements, or to ask for the discontinuation of settlement in accordance with the UN Security Council resolution N° 2334 in December 2016.

Hawatmeh added that the Trump triple delegation's round to Israel, Palestinian Authority and a number of Arab countries, will start on August 24th, with the aim of bringing the regional conference under the Israeli exclusivity to normalize relations between the Arab countries and Israel.

The Moroccan leader, Bensaid, in his turn stressed that the Moroccan people in all its components and political currents stands with Palestinian people, its resistance and the unity of all Palestinians in the stage of national liberation for self-determination, independence and the return of refugees.

Both sides affirmed that pluralistic democracy, civil state and social justice are the path of national unity and victory, and that the internal divisions and wars are the path of failure and defeat.
