Tayseer Khaled: We call for gaining the broad international sympathy with the Palestinian People to strengthen the boycott campaign to Israel

Tayseer Khaled, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, member of the Political Bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine welcomed the invitation, which was issued by a prominent group of American Jewish intellectuals, novelists and filmmakers who are recipients of literature, writing and Culture Awards, in its letter to the "Review of New York for books," the prestigious magazine, which is the first institution in the evaluation of books that published in the United States, which calls for boycotting for everything produced by settlements in the occupied West Bank, which will be published in the magazine on next October .

He added that the letter, which was signed by this group, which includes in its ranks 84 American Jewish prestigious figures, has a paramount importance that exceeds the calling for a comprehensive boycott of all goods and services of all Israeli settlements and any investments that reinforce the occupation in the occupied Palestinian territories by June aggression 1967, to recognize the truce line of 1967 that it put the official boundaries for each of the State of Palestine and the State of Israel , and as a starting point for negotiations between the Israeli and Palestinian sides, as well as to call the US government to exclude settlements from granted trade benefits for Israeli companies, and depriving all these Israeli commercial and residential entities in the West Bank from the tax exemptions.

Khaled, also welcomed the invitation extended by dozens of deputies in the European Parliament to the President of FIFA, and they demanded the exclusion of clubs - which are established by Israel in the West Bank settlements – from the Israeli Football Association, and they are: Maale Adumim, Givat Ze'ev near Jerusalem , and Kiryat Arba near Al-Khalil (southern West Bank) and Ariel (northern West Bank) and Bkaat Heerden in (the Jordan Valley) and act according to FIFA's laws and the international law, and the obligations of FIFA in the field of human rights, and not to allow to Israel to use football as a tool for expansion in the West Bank .

Khaled, also called the president of FIFA for putting this issue on the agenda of the meeting of the council of FIFA which is scheduled on 13 and 14 next October, and to act in accordance with the international law, which considers the existing settlements on the Palestinian territories that were occupied by Israel since 1967 illegal and to freeze Israel's membership in the Union, if it decided not to exclude the clubs of settlements from the Israeli Union.
