Abu Laila, head of the Social Issues Committee in the Legislative Council, member of the politburo of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine called our people for supporting the detainees in the jails of the Israeli occupation in their battle of dignity to realize their just demand and gain their rights, stressing on the need to unite all our efforts on the popular level through the active participation in mass marches and sit-ins in front of the headquarters of the international institutions. He also called for a move on the international level by the official institutions and NGOs in order to expose the practices of the occupation against the detainees.

Abu Laila has stressed that all the Palestinian people support our heroes in the prisons of the occupation on the day of the Palestinian Detainee. He has condemned the continued Israeli aggression against the Prisoner's Movement and the administrative detentions. He has also condemned the prevention of visits to the families' prisoners of the Gaza Strip and the medical negligence, as well as the inspections at night , the solitary confinement and all forms of regressive practices such as depriving the detainees from education.

Abu Laila has confirmed that the detainees have made enormous sacrifices by giving the springtime of their life for the Palestinian legal issue. So, we have to support them and participate in activities t in favor of their just issue.

"The battle of the empty bowels of the detainees is not theirs only. It is the battle of the Palestinian people, the battle of freedom, dignity and independence. This entails all of us to undertake our responsibilities in standing beside the movement of the detainees and supporting them in realizing their just demands." Abu Laila added.

Abu Laial emphasized that the issue of the detainees is a central and crucial issue to the whole Palestinian people and that it is one of the priorities of the Palestinian people. He also called for internationalizing the detainees' issue and scandalizing the Israeli practices against the detainees in the international circles until the third and fourth conventions of Geneva are applied on the Palestinian detainees.

Abu Laila pointed at the importance of formulating and carrying out a Palestinian strategy aiming at internationalizing the detainees' issue and urging for an international solidarity until we reach an international resolution for applying the third and fourth articles of Geneva conventions and scandalizing them in the international circles.
