The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) considered that the Constitutional Court's decision to grant President Abbas a power to drop the parliamentary immunity of the members of the Legislative Council, a step in the wrong direction, at a time does not serve the Palestinian national interest, and it said that the decision has become a controversial issue in the Palestinian National ranks , which would sink the Palestinian case in more disputes and conflicts at the expense of our supreme national interests.
DFLP said that it said that the decision to form the Constitutional Court issued unilaterally and outside the framework of the national consensus, and outside the foundations of the national partnership, which is the basis of the national coalition, which the relationship between the Palestinian National case components should be based upon.
The decision of this court came about the postponement (and then the cancellation) of the municipal and local elections, to prevent our people from exploiting an important opportunity for the promotion of its community architecture in the face of occupation and settlement.
Then came its decision [on the validity of President Abbas to drop the parliamentary immunity of the members of the Legislative Council] to make a hurly-burly in the National Front on the political and legal level, and to increase the weakening of the Palestinian situation and the deepening of its conflicts.
DFLP (by stressing on the non-involvement of the national and official institutions the Fatah movement’s conflicts and its preparations to hold its seventh conference, and because of its keenness on the need to work to provide the necessary atmospheres for the resumption of the comprehensive national dialogue ,ending the division and opening prospects for the unification of the institutions in PA and PLO on democratic foundations) calls for an end to the series of tensioning in the Palestinian case, and to cancel the constitutional Court's decision on the immunity of the members of the legislative Council, and to organize a dialogue on the formation of the constitutional Court and the foundations of its work in a consensual way that serves the national cause and the interests of our people and its struggles.
