DFLP mourns the great national leader Comrade Abdel-Ghani Khalil Hellu (Abu Khaldoun)
 

The Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) mourns the great national leader, Comrade Abdel-Ghani Hellu , member of the Political Bureau of the Front, member of the Palestinian National Council, member of the Arab National Congress and member of the Arab popular Congress, who left us on 5/11/2017, after a bitter struggle with illness, having performed his duty of struggle in the service of his people and his national cause.

The late leader Abu Khaldoun was born in 1947 in the city of Jaffa, his family with the sons of the city have been displaced to Syria by the Zionist gangs, where he lived and studied in it. Then he was involved in the national struggle for the cause of Palestine and the right of refugees to return to their homes and properties, which they have been displaced from since 1948.In February 1969 he joined the ranks of DFLP and was one of its founders, after that, he moved to Jordan, where he engaged in military action and fought many successful operations against enemy soldiers and its armed gangs. Then, he returned to Syria, where he was involved in the struggle alongside with the Palestinian camps' sons.

He represented the DFLP in Baghdad then in the Libyan capital Tripoli. In Syria, he assumed the responsibility of managing the foreign branches of the Front and then took command of the Front's district in Syria. He was a hard fighter serving his people's cause and rights, until he left us after a bitter conflict with illness on 5/11/2017.

He raised generations of Palestinian militants in Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Libya, and the foreign branches in Germany, Sweden, the United States, Algeria, Canada, Denmark, the Soviet Union, the socialist system and other diaspora countries, as he was known by the Arab and world leftist, progressive and democratic parties, active in their forums and conferences, as a representative for the DFLP and, chairman of its delegations and an official speaker for it.

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), as bidding farewell for its senior leader, is expressing its warm condolences to the family of the late comrade and to the Palestinian people at home and abroad, especially the Palestinian camps in Syria, in addition to the Palestinian National Movement, which lost one of its founding leaders, and to the Arab Liberation Movement, which he was one of its well-known activists.

On this painful occasion, we renew to continue the struggle to achieve the high goals for which he lived and suffered, and in the forefront, are the legitimate national rights of our Palestinian people, in return, self-determination and the independent state.
