DFLP: The settlement expansion by millions of apartments is the poisonous fruit of Oslo Accords and the Century Deal

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine made the following statement:

The Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz reported, on December 25, that the settlers who belong to the Zionist organization "Hillmen", have set up 17 new settlement outposts since 2011, raising the number of the outposts in different parts of the West Bank, which the occupation government is working, in twisted ways, to provide them by educational, environmental and health services, on the way to recognize them later as "legitimate settlements" to be included in the settlement expansion projects adopted by Netanyahu's government; the most recent of them is the project of flooding the Palestinian territories with five million new settlers and the construction of a million apartments in the West Bank, including 300,000 apartments in Jerusalem alone, which means flooding the Holy City with a million of new settlers.

The statement pointed out that the occupation authorities had pledged in the roadmap plan to work on the removal of the outposts, but the Israeli Knesset has reintroduced a law to legitimize these outposts, which once again reveals the seriousness of the agreements signed by the Palestinian Authority, which are still subject to the Israeli violation, and a cover for the settlement projects.

The DFLP said that the voices that went to call for the death of the Oslo Accords and the death of the Century Deal, are called to review their positions and stop promoting political ideas and positions that harm the Palestinian national struggle, and makes illusions raising in the public awareness and opening doors to a new and alternative policy that has effectiveness to address the challenges posed by the US and Israeli policies.

The statement called the official Palestinian leadership to move from a policy of promising, looming, and wasting opportunities, to a serious practical policy that would enable it to confront the ongoing Israeli projects that threaten the future of the Palestinian national project and the fate of the Palestinian land.

The DFLP reiterated in its statement the following steps:

1- Cancelling the Oslo Accords with all their political, economic and security obligations, and withdrawing from the recognition of Israel, in addition to halting the security coordination and the economic dependence, including the withdrawal of the Palestinian workers from the Israeli settlement projects.

2- Submitting an application for the active membership of the State of Palestine under "United for Peace" term, based on resolution 67/19 which granted observer membership to the State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital on borders before June 4, 1967, and the return of the Palestinian refugees according to the UN resolution 194, immediately to the General Assembly of the United Nations.

3- Calling for an international conference under the auspices of the United Nations and the five permanent members of the Security Council according to the resolutions of international legitimacy that have recognized our people legitimate rights of return, self-determination and independence.

4- Seeking the international protection for our people, our sanctity and our land, from occupation and settlement, in the face of the policy of plundering the land, and the policy of deadly and lethal force pursued by the occupation forces against our people.

The DFLP concluded its statement by calling on the official leadership to refer the settlement file, including the one million apartments for settlers project in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2334, and the settlement outposts and the project of dumping Jerusalem with one million new settlers to the International Criminal Court, for the accountability and trial of Israel for its crimes against our people and land, and the violation of the international legitimacy resolutions, the international humanitarian law and the Charter of the United Nations and Human Rights.
